Honor 6 international device H60-L04 will be joining their Chinese counterpart in using EMUI 3.0 by early February. The EMUI 3.0 update will be available in in certain markets OTA starting middle of January and would be available globally by February. Currently, Honor 6 (H60-L04) are preloaded with EMUI 2.3 with KitKat 4.4.2.
EMUI 3.0 for China domestic market have been available in China since December are due to make their international appearance soon. The information regarding the update schedule are still scarce but Huawei are hinting the imminent availability in their Facebook page since the new year.
There is no indication of which version of Kitkat will be shipped together with the update as currently there are two available EMUI 3.0 ROM with 4.4.2 and 4.4.4. We hope Huawei would release the 4.4.4 ROM as that would make this EMUI update more relevant with the current release. The new Huawei G7 and Honor 4X are shipped with EMUI 3.0 on 4.4.4 kitkat while other model such as Ascend Mate 7 is still on 4.4.2 even with the same EMUI 3.0.
You can get the latest EMUI 3.0 on Kitkat on some of the latest Huawei and Honor phone but earlier model are still shipped with 4.4.2. There are no significant changes on the interface for 4.4.4 but the extra feature available and fixes that shipped with 4.4.4 would make the update a welcome addition to just an interface EMUI 3.0 update.
