Honor 6 - How to install EMUI 3.0 Build B370 for stock phone

* update : a new build is now available (B380), its an update to the B370. You can head over to the new post once you've installed B370 for the update file

* Update :  added Mirror for file downloads from Mega

* Update : new post on how to replace stock recovery on rooted phone to enable update

Honor Malaysia recently released a Beta version of EMUI 3.0 for owners of Honor 6 in Malaysia. This beta was only opened for Malaysian Honor device that register on their facebook page. The EMUI 3.0 Beta for Malaysian user is the latest build available to date H60-L04V100R001C0B370 , even higher than what was available as a full release for domestic China market (B307) and would be almost on par with the Developer Edition update available there.

We've manage to copy the update file from OTA and with some help of friends, we've managed to compile the necessary file to update your Honor 6 Build B108/109 (EMUI 2.3) to the latest B370 (EMUI 3.0 Beta). This how-to is without any guarantee that it would work and it may or may not render your phone unusable. Please follow and read the instruction carefully before doing these steps and as a precaution, always backup your phone.

You can read the change log here

Stock ROM ( H60-L04V100R001C00B108SP01 / H60-L04V100R001C00B109SP01 )
Stock ROM B108 would need to do 2 system update in order to be fully updated to Beta EMUI 3.0 (B370)

1. Please download B114 for your specific Build B108 / B109

H60-L04V100R001C00B114 from Philippine H60-L04 Model

2. Create "dload" folder on your internal drive and copy the Update.zip in to it.

3. Open EMUI updater and Chose Local Update

4. Install and reboot your phone (you should be updated to B114 by now with EMUI 2.3)

5. Download B370 EMUI 3.0 Beta ( H60-L04V100R001C0B370 / H60-L04V100R001C0B370 Mirror ) our own Beta OTA (Malaysia H60-L04)

6. Repeat step 2 and step 3

7. Install and reboot your phone (you should be updated to EMUI 3.0 Beta B370 by now)

  4. Setting >> about phone >> built number ( might have to scroll down a bit) look for the number after B

  5. I have rooted my phone. what is the procedure now.

    ReplyDelete
  6. You just need to replace the recovery to Huawei stock recovery and run the update.. No need to unroot.. Can put back you CWM recovery after done with the installation

    ReplyDelete
  7. How to get back to stock recovery from cwm

    ReplyDelete
  8. If you rooted your phone yourself, there is a time when you replace recovery using fastboot command.. Do the same command in fastboot but replace the cwm with the stock Huawei recovery.. There is a tool available called Honor 6 multitool that can help to replace the recovery easily.

If you are not familiar with recovery and the fastboot command, I suggest you find someone familiar with it as it can soft brick your phone

  9. I have rooted my h60-L04 .. can you tell me how to get back to huawei stock recovery ??

    ReplyDelete
  10. Can use the honor 6 multitool on a PC.. Put the phone on download mode and connect using multitool.. There is an option to put back huawei stock recovery from there

  11. Seems that a lot of user are asking on how to restore stock recovery we will post a how to as soon as possible for everyone. Keep posted for updates on this blog

  12. I have honor 6 the B108 ver. So, if I update this build to my phone, will I still receive the official build when it comes out? And how many people here already try this build? Pros and Cons of the build, guys?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I can help to answer the first question.. The B370 doesn't seems like a Beta build at all as the official build for Europe is the same B370 build.. The way huawei / honor never contacted user for feedback also show that this is not a Beta build (registered to few beta testing before this).. Huawei is testing the OTA update where 2 update is release simultaneously B108/B109 >> B114 >> B370.. Europe update was using the same method as the one we "Beta" here in Malaysia. The official update would still be B370 (whenever that is)

    ReplyDelete
  14. okay thanks , its working ..

    ReplyDelete
  15. Thanks for the reply. Another question, I finish the download both of the file last night, so since this is the beta build, what kind of bugs can I expect will occur?

    ReplyDelete
  16. didn't notice any bug until now but there are some services not available as reported by users regarding Huawei music unable to download song..

    ReplyDelete
  17. Do I need to root my phone to download this? I just bought my phone, fresh.

    ReplyDelete
  18. hi, my version is B108sp01 , and updates are failed , is this version compatible with mine ?

    ReplyDelete
  19. The update is for unrooted / stock phone as listed on the title

    ReplyDelete
  20. No idea but the update can be use on any L04 model.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes, these update is for both B109 and B108. I'm pretty sure you didn't follow the instructions properly or your phone is not H60-L04

    ReplyDelete
  22. You're not the only one who failed to update....I believe we need one update file to update to B109 before we can proceed to update B114, and B370.....

    ReplyDelete
  23. if you notife daryll actually manage to update his phone in the lower comment. afaik, there is no other update required if you are from B108 or B109. you just need to download the appropriate update for each.. the B108 file is bigger than B109. once you are on B114 you can proceed with B370 and the B380 (on another post)

    ReplyDelete
  24. OTA package is not existing : Message is being displayed for the second update installation.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You won't have OTA.. All have to be done manually. This update only available OTA for certain device / region

    ReplyDelete
  26. will it delete all my files? thanks

    ReplyDelete
  27. i'm already on b114, if i'll update it to b370 emui 3.0, will all my files be deleted? thanks!

I have updated from stock rom to B310 manually through local update method.
I want to update to b380 now. Please let me know the step by step procedure.

    ReplyDelete
  29. AFAIK, B310 is the beta emui 3.0 for Europe. We don't have any update file for that as in Asia (Malaysia), the update build are as follow, B108/B109 -> B114 -> B370 (EMUI 3.0) -> B380.. All the file available in this blog are for these build only.. You might need to check with Europe user on how did they update, we will try to source it for this blog later if there is any available.

  30. Kiran Ramesh Gowda27 February 2015 at 12:41

Can I downgrade to b109sp01 and then upgrade to b370 and then to b380?
Will this be the correct and successful method?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Theoretically that would be the way but I have no idea how to downgrade your build without rooting / unlocked boot loader. My suggestion is to try to source any specific update that could upgrade B310 to B370 or ask the Europe user on how they did the upgrade.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi. I'm from Iran. Must I update b370 or b310?
    Please guide me. Thanks...

    ReplyDelete
  33. I can't answer what you should do but all I can say is to go for B370 as that is the full release for EMUI 3.0 for honor 6.. Again its up to you..

    I am from India too.
I too have the Build version H60-L04V100R001C00B115, not "B114"
Now should I go directly for the B370 update or should anything else be done before this??
    Thanks in advance

    ReplyDelete
  39. this B115 should be a new build purposely made by huawei/honor to stop local update such as the one we provide. If that is the case, it seems honor/huawei dont want EMUI 3.0 availability in India yet. Please do not update the B370 as the file here is for B114 (global) and not the B115 (india). sorry about that

    ReplyDelete
  40. Link is down :(

    ReplyDelete
  41. B370...Too many views or downloads...Cannot be used as at now

    ReplyDelete
  42. are you using a download accelerator or manager? google drive tend to limit those connection to avoid abuse. please try using a normal browser download.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Sorry about that guys.. Added mirror to mega

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  51. which part of the article that you dont understand?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Im rooted, how can i update the firmware?

    ReplyDelete
  53. If you read thru the comment below you could see it can be done but would need to change your recovery to the stock honor recovery. Replacing your recovery would means full system wipe and factory reset

    ReplyDelete
  54. Thanks for this post Nuzzary. I manage to update my phone abt a month ago XD
Now, im using EMUI 3.0 on my device, yeahh..
Oh yeah, Nuzzary, can you please take a look at the "honor malaysia" facebook page. They seem to release the EMUI 3.0 OTA in public now. Is it the same package as the one i update manually here?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Its the same file but with different package.. The new update skip B370 and push the B380 update (B370+B380) as a single 400MB update file. BTW, I'm also a member there

    ReplyDelete
  56. how to install stock recovery?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Download the latest honor multitool.. There its included with the stock recovery to install

    ReplyDelete
  58. Does the latest version has stock for h60-l04?

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm from Egypt and Chinese phone industry means Original Is Saihdt any damage when you download the update (Malaysia and thank km

    ReplyDelete
  60. Sir,i had done all those step, but the installing process after reeboot is failed.why?

    ReplyDelete
  61. what is your current build and recovery version?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Its B114 already...i've rooted my phone and flash the stock recovery for B114,then i follow ur step installing update for B370 and failed..i also unroot my phone and trying install the update but its keep failed..please tell me if there any solutions or something that i did wrong

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yes..im malaysian..

    ReplyDelete
  64. In that case you supposed to receive the update thru OTA as it is now official in Malaysia.. Just email vmall.my with you detail (imei, date of purchase) and you should be getting the update.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I had receive the update, but failed to update...after done that,i follow ur step and also failed

    ReplyDelete
  66. OTA update is B380 and listed here is B370 both required B114 prior to it. If you already unroot & restore stock recovery might as well you restore standard ROM from EMUI website (Philippines B114 or Europe B108).. That should be able to fix your update. There is maybe files changed during your rooting that wasn't restored after unroot (BTW how do you unroot?)

    ReplyDelete
  67. BTW, my honor 6 is rooted since the first week purchase and I'm able to receive OTA just by restoring stock honor / huawei recovery

    ReplyDelete
  68. Im using supersu apps,go to setting and unroot..is there any things else need to be done?btw i just received the new update B380 ver,i'll try it first then i ask u later if there any problem...thanks

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hi,

I am not able to download any of the below files please suggest

    H60-L04V100R001C00B114 Malaysia H60-L04 Model B109
    H60-L04V100R001C00B114 Malaysia H60-L04 Model B109 (mirror)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Some browser such as chrome block the file (.zip extension).. Try using internet explorer

    ReplyDelete
  71. The update is specific for H60-L04.. If you are on the same model should not have any issue

    ReplyDelete
  72. Hey,i had install the update,B380 version, but failed, same as before,do you have any other solutions?

    ReplyDelete
  73. If you are stuck at B114 , there is another way to go to EMUI 3.0 by installing (restore) your phone using B370 Europe ROM (can download from XDA forum).. Maybe that could fix your update issue.. The file and how to installed is in the forum..

    ReplyDelete
  74. Can u give me the link?thanks

    ReplyDelete
  75. http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6/general/honor-6-stock-roms-t2963180 .. Look for H60-L04 slightly below

    ReplyDelete
  76. Hi. Can I install this on the Indian version of the phone.

    ReplyDelete
  77. model wise it is the same but you would not be able to install if you are on B115 as reported by some indian user on this forum.. if you are on either B109/B114 you should not have any issue

    ReplyDelete
  78. hai...im user h60-l04 b108 n rooted..1 question how to update this OTA?please make a tutorial for rooted user..because i dont find stock recovery of b108..

  82. Karthikeyu Busa1 April 2015 at 03:02

Thanks brother .. it worked for me !!

    ReplyDelete
  83. what the difference between mirror and non mirror??
ex: Malaysia H60-L04 Model B109 Malaysia H60-L04 Model B109 (mirror)

    ReplyDelete
  84. Just the file location, one from google drive one from mega share

    ReplyDelete
  85. I have H60-L04V100R001C00B108SP02 not H60-L04V100R001C00B108SP01 can I still do this?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Supposedly yes.. Please take note that a new B380 is already available. Just manual upgrade to B114 then jump to B380 post for upgrade from B114 to B380..

    ReplyDelete
  87. actually having issues - I went back from CWM recovery to stock so I could update and though it seems to have installed stock I can't update to anything. I just tried to do factory reset and that just has also failed

    ReplyDelete
  88. The best option for you is to restore full factory flash with B114 or B380 directly.. You can try to find the link from this blog.. If you can accept factory reset might as well do a full system flash

    ReplyDelete
  89. can't actually boot into recovery at the moment so how would I do that?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Download full ROM from huawei (1gb ++) and Use 3 button restore (power + volume up + volume down).. The whole idea is to restore a full ROM (B114 / B380) straight away.. If you are doing a 3 button restore, please plug out any USB cable.. I can't remember if there is any post showing how to do the 3 button restore but you could find it anywhere else

    ReplyDelete
  91. hi - didn't work. I downloaded a B390 firmware - extracted the UPDATE.APP to a dload folder on the internal drive. shutdown the machine. held the 3 buttons until the logo appeared and after a short while I got 'verifying update file' then FAIL

    ReplyDelete
  92. Personally I never have experience with B390 full ROM but I've done few update and downgrade using both B114 and B380 full ROM (1.4 GB and 1.2 GB).. Make sure you download the full ROM not the update file from the huawei websites

    ReplyDelete
  93. Hi I downloaded full ROM but only put update app on phone?

    ReplyDelete
  94. AFAIK there is no available update (using EMUI updater) for B115, you can do full update using full ROM (hisuite) or using 3 button recovery to B380 straight. You need to download full ROM and you would lost all data. The B115 as I know is not international official update plan and would only be Indian specific.

    ReplyDelete
  95. THANKS SO MUCH! Im from the PHILIPPINES.. my honor 6 got upgraded from B114 to B370.. thanks so much to this super effective tutorial..

    ReplyDelete
  96. thank you for deopping by.. glad you find this helpful.. we appreciate all your feedback

    ReplyDelete
  97. After much nonsense I am now on B380 so thanks for your help Nuzzary :)

    ReplyDelete
  98. Great news!! Enjoy it my friend..

    ReplyDelete
  99. Do you have any tutorials so that I can make it to B380.. THANKS :*

    ReplyDelete
  100. There is.. The link is available on the top of this post..

    ReplyDelete
  101. I have updated my phone with the build B370, its working fine, but unfortunately am not seeing any option in 'Motion Control". When I click on it, it shows a blank screen. What to do with it? How do i get the motion control options?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Do you have CUST error?.. If you do I don't have a confirm solution because never see it personally but it might be something to do with the CUST version not the same.. Sorry I can't help much

    ReplyDelete
  103. How did you manage to get it to work in the end? I have the same build, and having same trouble updating to 114.

    ReplyDelete
  104. If you are OK with full data wipe (factory reset) and on stock recovery, you can try to do force update using 3 button (update.app from full ROM)..

    ReplyDelete
  105. What do you mean by stock recovery? Sorry not a usual Android user.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Stock recovery would means that the phone is not rooted and replaced with 3rd party recovery (CWM / TWRP).. If its exactly like you bought it out from the box then it would be all stock

    ReplyDelete
  107. Oh yeah I haven't rooted it. So would that mean I can move directly to build 370/380? Also would you be able to provide a link for the Huawei full Rom? I tried the one on the site, but the download failed multiple times. - thanks for your help btw.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Hi Josh

I installed B109SP01 and upgraded to B370 using this method:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58390649&postcount=4

then upgraded to B380 by local update

    ReplyDelete
  109. Which full ROM? B114 or B380?.. To be on the safe side.. Try getting the B114 full ROM then do incremental update.. B370/380 is EMUI 3.0 and have different recovery (update came with B114 - B370/B380 file)..

    ReplyDelete
  110. Oh ok, Thats makes sense. When i downloaded 114 (above) it said update failed when i followed steps (above)

    ReplyDelete
  111. So its not possible without rooting the phone? Trying to avoid loosing warrantee if possible

    ReplyDelete
  112. It might be possible.. If you are willing to try there are various option to try before resorting to rooting.. It's kind of hard to do this on the blog comment and I would recommend you to post your error on the Facebook page.. Easier to communicate from there..

    ReplyDelete
  113. Sounds good, whats the Facebook page under?

    ReplyDelete
  114. not as far as I can see - an actual upgrade for our phone has never arrived

    ReplyDelete
  115. Look for mytechgarbage.net in Facebook.. BTW which country are these version?

    ReplyDelete
  116. Think i might just do this version, instructions are a little fuzzy though, does the phone need to be rooted before i begin or does it assume your starting with a stock device?

    ReplyDelete
  117. the mytechgarbage.instructions have to be done with stock,

you have to be rooted for the XDA bootloader option

    ReplyDelete
  118. Huawei remote control is not working!!!Please help me

    ReplyDelete
  119. Try using other apps for it in the playstore (eg zaza ).. The smart control application was released for 2.3 and afaik there is no update available from huawei for the apps after emui 3.0

    ReplyDelete
  120. I have rooted honor 6 h60 l04 indian version with CWM installed.I want to reflash stock recovery but I don't know it's procedure. Please help me.
