Windows Phone - Dropbox app is now official


Dropbox app are now official on Windows Phone with the latest Universal app release  that would be working on Windows 8.1. This is a result of partnership arangement done between Dropbox and Microsoft late last year. Previously Dropbox are available only as a desktop software and Microsoft manage to convince Dropbox to build a full fledge universal app as that could make a relevant move to Windows 8 for their users.

For those who are not familiar with Dropbox, the cloud storage company is currently one of the biggest cloud storage solution and would be the envy of other cloud storage solution such as Microsoft's own Skydrive / Onedrive. With the availability of Dropbox as a Universal apps, Microsoft would leverage on the Universal app usability in Windows 8 to drive more adopters.





The Dropbox Universal app would intergrate well on to the current Windows 8/8.1 and Windows Phone environment with features such as;

• Access your photos, docs, and videos from any device
• 2 GB of free space when you sign up
• Share even your biggest files with a simple link — no more attachments!
• Add files to your “Favorites” for fast, offline viewing
