Huawei Mate 8 was given a big push with two update release by Huawei since its availability in the Asia Pacific region. The biggest change started in the B170 update that add Fingerprint sensor gesture just like what available on Honor 7.
Since EMUI 4.0, the ability to local update from Updater app have been remove and Huawei would only send update OTA to all their phones. This way, Huawei would maintain visibility for all devices while also making sure all their phone are properly updated.
There is still way to update the phone and most users already knew of two way that can be use to update any EMUI 4.0 phone.

1. Download the update File B170/B180
2. Extract the Zip file
3. Create a folder name dload in your SDcard / Internal storage
4. Copy both META-INF and Update.app to the dload folder
5. Backup your phone
You could use any of these method to update once you already copy the file
a) Power off the phone and start the phone while holding Power + Volume up + Volume down.
b) Use the hidden Service Menu > Software upgrade > SDCard upgrade
