Honor 4X - Official EMUI 4.0 for South East Asia ( CHE2-L11C636B510 )

Official Marshmallow update for Honor / Huawei phone are being released rapidly, just as other phone earlier, Honor / Huawei have officially release the EMUI 4.0 update for Honor 4X. This update is the most anticipated since Lollipop because of the additional feature that EMUI 4.0 brings to the phone. This update file seems like a master update file and may be able to update even from Kitkat (EMUI 3.0).

EMUI 4.0 is build on top of Android latest Marshmallow that will bring a host of updates and additional feature that is exclusive to Marshmallow such as Doze. This might be the last official verion update that would be available to Honor 6 since it is already went thru multiple update since it was release with Kitkat in 2014.

As usual, we will put the link here and also how to update your phone for those that are new and for those who are already familiar with Honor update system, this file should be not an issue for you. Again, as a reminder, always backup your phone.

Update prerequisite
1.  Make sure all your app are moved to internal memory and would fit everything inside.
2. If somehow you cant fit all your app in internal memory, please do uninstall apps that use a lot of free space.
3. Make sure you have at least 1GB of free space in your internal memory after all your apps are moved.
4. backup your data either to SDCard or to Hisuite (Computer)
5. Make sure your phone are pluged in duirng the whole update period
6. If you are upgrading from EMUI 3.0, a factory reset is required before installing this update to ease the migration.

Honor 4X Update File : Che2-L11C636B510 (South East Asia)

How to update
1. Download the Honor 4X update file to a PC
2. Extract the update file in Your PC and copy out the update.app file
3. Plug in your device to the PC via USB cable
4. Create "dload" folder on your SD Card and copy the Update.app in to it. (using pc explorer)
4. Plug out the phone and Open EMUI updater --> Chose Local Update
5. Install and reboot your phone (you should be updated to Android 6.0 now with EMUI 4.0)

Your phone will be very sluggish for a while (few minutes to hours) because Android would need to reinstall all your apps again one by one. This installation would include all pre-installed system apps thus even if you dont have any apps installed it still be having the same issue.
