Huawei Mate 7 (MT7-L09 / MT7-L10) Official EMUI 4.0 released for South Pacific / Asia

On the same day as Honor 6 and Honor 6 Plus EMUI update release, Huawei Mate 7 also was included in the EMUI 4.0 family with Official Firmware release. Just as the phone before it, this update is the most anticipated since Lollipop because of the additional feature that EMUI 4.0 brings to the phone. This is a region specific update and you have to be running only listed build before updating.

As usual, we will put the link here and also how to update your phone for those that are new and for those who are already familiar with Honor update system, this file should be not an issue for you. Again, as a reminder, always backup your phone.

EMUI 4.0 is build on top of Android latest Marshmallow that will bring a host of updates and additional feature that is exclusive to Marshmallow such as Doze. This might be the last official version update that would be available to Mate 7 since it is already went thru multiple update since it was release with Kitkat in 2014.

Update prerequisite
1.  Make sure all your app are moved to internal memory and would fit everything inside.
2. If somehow you cant fit all your app in internal memory, please do uninstall apps that use a lot of free space.
3. Make sure you have at least 1GB of free space in your internal memory after all your apps are moved.
4. backup your data either to SDCard or to Hisuite (Computer)
5. Make sure your phone are plugged-in during the whole update period
6. This update only applicable for MT7-L09 and MT7-L10

Update File :

How to update
1. Download the Mate7 (L09/L10) update file to a PC
2. Extract the update file in Your PC and copy out the update.app file
3. Plug in your device to the PC via USB cable
4. Create "dload" folder on your SD Card and copy the Update.app in to it. (using pc explorer)
4. Plug out the phone and Open EMUI updater --> Chose Local Update
5. Install and reboot your phone (you should be updated to Android 6.0 now with EMUI 4.0)

Your phone will be very sluggish for a while (few minutes to hours) because Android would need to reinstall all your apps again one by one. This installation would include all pre-installed system apps thus even if you don't have any apps installed it still be having the same issue.
