Nexus 4, 5 and 7 Lollipop 5.1.1 update factory image is now available, less than a week after the initial OTA update availability. For Nexus 4, this might be the last of the official update release for it with the looming launch of android M. Nexus 4 is still a popular phone by enthuasis and for those who own one, fret not because unofficial ROM would still be available even after the release of Android M.
The OTA is just a minor update with only 18MB in space where the version is bumped from 5.1 to 5.1.1. For Rooted and Unlocked phone, you might need to restore back the stock ROM for this or just straight away upgrade to the 5.1.1 factory image. With the release of 5.1.1 to these phones, Google can now dedicate their android team in building the Android M since the Google I/o is now up and running.
It has been speculated that the last update (5.1.1) would be release right before google I/o because all the resources would be redirected to the new OS. We will look at the latest version in android M in the next post and how it will impact current generation mobile.
