Nexus's September Android update (LMY48M) now available for download

While google promise users of monthly security update, it might not be everyone's cup of tea but as promised last month, September update is here. Google posted the latest image (LMY48M) for Nexus 4,5,6,7,9 and 10. While some user would not be looking forward for this update but they should because it is meant to patch stage fright once and for all. If there is a time for you to un root your device, this would be it.

Stage Fright - Google still playing catch-up but some forked Android fare better

Stage fright may be the worst bug that ever appear on any android and after almost a month after the public announcement, google are still unable to patch it properly. This might not be the best advertisement for Google and specially Nexus phone if this is dealt swiftly. Only last week Google and Samsung announce that both of these company would emulate PC to bring monthly security updates for their phone starting august.

Android's monthly security update but only Samsung & Nexus device for now

With the latest security flaw found on Android and how major it is, Google will have a schedule monthly security update for all android version but as of now only Google (Nexus) and Samsung will apply it. Late last month, a huge security flaw was published to the general public that show how a hacker can have access to any Android device just by sending a MMS with malicious payload. The flaw isn't something on apps but on the Android system itself that make patching it not easy because Google don't have control over Android distribution except Nexus.

Snapdragon powered Huawei - Is this the next Nexus?

Huawei recently release a snapdragon powered smartphone under a very low key unveiling. It might not be your top of the crop smartphone but once we were informed of this phone, something struck us, is this the next nexus? Earlier report was saying that Google would be releasing two new Nexus phones this year from two different manufacturer, LG and Huawei. A lot of people speculated that Huawei would not be building a tablet and LG would be building the flagship device so that would only leave Huawei to build a mid tier model.
