EMUI 4.0 - Enabling Adopted Storage

EMUI 4.0 brings a lot of new feature that are Marshmallow native and also EMUI exclusive but there is one additional feature that most phone manufacturer omitted from their menu including Huawei. Adopted Storage was a new feature that was added to Marshmallow in light of the complaints regarding Lollipop issue with SD Cards. In Lollipop, not all app could be moved to SD Card and the worst is the apps would be moved back to internal storage once any update is installed.

Before we go further in showing how it is done, we would need to advise all of you that doing this might gave issue to your current setup that could lead to data corruption and lost. There are valid reasons to why this adopted storage wasn't included in most phone manufacturer menu and one of it is for system stability.

Meizu M2 Note - Benchmarking MT6753 vs Kirin 620 (Honor 4X)

MediaTek's previously announced MT6753, arrived commercially in the form of Meizu M2 Note. With considerably slower maximum CPU speeds for the eight CPU cores, as well as a lower performance GPU, the newer M2 note is not an upgrade as the name suggest but more of a new option for a different market. The lower cost of the MT6753 platform gave Meizu M2 Note a lower price point and gave Meizu the ability to join the lower priced phablet war.

With the new cheaper SoC used in Meizu M2 Note, its now a direct competitor to Honor 4X, the earlier M1 Note is slightly higher priced. This post will look at how does the latest SoC fare if being put head to head with Huawei's own Hisilicon Kirin 620. This smallest sibling might not be getting the limelight as the other P8s but this smart phone still would make a good buy just by looking at the specs offered.

P8 Lite as the name suggested is the lower model of Huawei P8 but the difference are only at the internal hardware with P8 Lite still retains the unibody and the build quality that you could expect from a flagship devices. In a glance, we could tell that this phone would be having a similar performance as the Honor 4x / Honor 4c as it shares the same internal hardware.

Honor 4x Che2-L11 - How to root Honor 4x (Kirin 620)

* Honor 4x - Kirin 620 vs Snapdragon 410
* Disclaimer : We are not responsible for bricked device and your warranty will be void
Honor 4x came in multiple device format but there are 2 distinct version, the Snapdragon 410 and the Hisilicon Kirin 620. Both of this device is named according to their configuration based on Honor Cherry family where Che1 is for Snapdragon and Che2 for Kirin 620. The later number in the naming convention is to differentiate specific models and the drivers (for ROM update / flash purpose)

In this article, we will show how to Root your Kirin 620 based phone (Che2-L11 (international), Che2-L12, Che2-L23, Che2-TL00, Che2-TL00H, Che2-TL00M and Che2-UL00) with the exploit created for Che2-tl00h model that is available in China. Luckily for us, the Che2-tL00 is exactly the same configuration as our Che2-L11 with Dual 4G standby, 8GB storage and 2GB of RAM. In order to do this, we need to unlocked the bootloader and that would means a full factory reset would be applied. Android would wipe all data in the event of bootloader unlocked for security reasons.

The 64bit capability is not with its own twist with Honor 4x came in two different SoC model.

Both of these SoC is 64bit enable running on ARM's A53 architecture but running in a very distinct configuration to say at least. This post will look at both options available and what would stand out in both of these processor option.
