Windows 10 Technical Preview - December update (KB3020114)

Microsoft has release the December update (KB3020114) to fix explorer.exe crash in the latest build. Many user complained of explorer.exe crashing in the November built (9879) while upgrading. This behaviour apply to both Windows server technical preview and Windows 10 Technical Preview. It might be only specific to the Upgrade installation just like the one we've faced before that eventually led us to do a Clean Install.

The KB3020114 page is not available at the time of writing and might be already brought down by Microsoft, no reason was found for non available page. For anyone who want to read the KB page, please use you search engine cached page.

"The Explorer.exe process continuously crashes and restarts after you upgrade to  Windows Server Technical Preview or Windows 10 Technical Preview."

Installation was a breeze on my tablet without any glitches or failure that somehow still plague some of the user. There are even report of  worsening impact than the error that it supposed to fix. Another update might be released by Microsoft if the error still persist for all affected user installation.

If you hit error 80070005 during installation, you should be removing a certain "suspicious update" in KB3016656 based on input from Jeffrey Roach, MVP at Microsoft Community Forum.  You can head over to the forum for more detailed list of things to do.
