Personally we've received quite a number of readers who ask how could they downgrade back to KitKat from their current lollipop devices. It may came as a surprise for some but many of these user need to downgrade for any number of reason such as app incompatible, need to apply correct local update or even some that feels KitKat is better for them than lollipop.
This post will not go into too much detail on what you could expect but will point user to the correct way for downgrading. Another point that we will add is that there might be certain build than would not be able to downgrade.
We need to stress here that downgrading would means a full system wipe as android are not meant to downgrade while maintaining user data. The need to wipe the phone is required by Android itself and not EMUI exclusive. These downgrade file was made possible by Huawei / Honor for users on Beta (lollipop) and might not work as intended on your official release Lollipop.
There are only a few phones that was allowed downgrade and we will list them with their file below.
We will try our best to host these file later on because we couldn't guess how long Huawei would keep it on their server.
