One Plus is saying good bye to Cyanogen with their own Lollipop "flavour"

After the Indian debacle where One Plus One was banned temporary from India market because of Micromax's exclusive rights with Cyanogen, One Plus will be coming out with their own Lollipop "flavour". The legal tussle in India open the door for One Plus to look at building their own after their non-exclusive worldwide agreement seems to be broken by Cyanogen with Micromax's India-exclusive agreement.

On the middle on December, One Plus started a contest to name their upcoming own Android OS, that show evidence of One Plus is really considering life without Cyanogen. The contest aim to named started at One Plus's official forum was closed on 31st December. The winner and the official name of the Android version will be announced on 11th January as stated in the last page of the contest forum post.

The Alpha version of it was release on One Plus's forum on the 31st December inviting users to installed on their One Plus devices. It has been reported that the Alpha version of the unnamed OS is still very much like a stock AOSP Lollipop but with the pace that the release, we can be sure that a Beta or even an official general release is just in a matter of time.

You almost can feel sorry for One Plus on their current predicament with Cyanogen and we hope all the best for One Plus moving forward. Lets hope the new OS would be something that the current One Plus user would love just like Cyanogen's and also something other user would love to use on their next One Plus's smartphone.
